The Gatling Gun

The Gatling Gun was created during the Civil War. It is a multi cylinder gun usually with six barrels it could wipe out an entire squad of 15 men only using 2 men to work it. Although it was  a great weapon on the battle field it often would easily get jammed or malfunction is some way. I think the Gatling gun was a huge jump in our military technology. Even today they use a more high powered Gatling gun to wipe out 300 men instead of the original 15.

The U.S.S. Arizona

www.history.navy.mil
The U.S.S. Arizona was a power house in the U.S.A.'s Navy. It was a large destroyer that was tragically sunken at the attack of Pearl Harbor. This is a photo of the Arizona in New York just before it set sail for Hawaii. The Attack on Pearl Harbour was a surprise to all it was a dramatic time in World War were Japan decided to join the war on the German side. The destroyer went down because of the many torpedoes launched from Japanese planes and some even think there was also small submarines firing at U.S. ships. In the end this battle marked a horrible loss for America but it gave us motivation to go destroy everything and anything Japanese.

Tuskegee Airmen

The Tuskegee airmen were all black pilots during world war to that were always overlooked and were never engaged in a battle. These pilots quickly got the name red tails for their red stabilizer on their P-51 mustangs. After given one chance to protect B-52 bombers they proved themselves as excellent pilots they protected the bombers as they were their own squad. Instead of going for the glory and attacking any German pilot that came by they never left the bombers side. These men conquered so much in their time in world war two that their was even a movie created to show what they went through to conquer these goals. this movie is called (Red Tails) I really hope you take only 3 hours out of your day to watch this epic movie. I loved it and i bet you will to.

The Mark V Tank one of the first tanks ever made. It was used in the first world war and almost imediently after it was comisioned it became tha warloard of the battlefield. its a warloard becuse almost nothing can stop it it can crush buildings cars and go over enemy trenches without even breaking a sweat. The tracks allow for trackshion which was needed on almost every battle field it has two large cannons on both sides that can destroy small cars or bunkers. It can also have two machince guns by these cannons and one in the rear and one in the top. This tank made warfare easy for anyone who owned one or two.

AH-64 Apache Helicpoter

beautifulcoolwallpapers.wordpress.com

The Apache Helicopter is the ultimite power house out of all helicopters. The Helicopters were used in Panama, Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. It is the primary helicopter not for just U.S.A. but is also the primary helicpoter for many other nations. This to me is the most effective and most precious weapon on any type of battle field and will be for many more years.

The First Submarine

nytimes.com

This submarine called the turtle was used in the Revolutionary War. It's purpose was to go under British ships and drill holes into the bottom of the boat after enough holes were drilled the ship would sink. I think this submarine shows American ingenuity at its best we created a new weapon that could hardly be touched by the enemy.

Vietnam

                                                           http://www.tampabay.com
The most mind blowing terrifying War ever, called Vietnam. You hardly ever got to sleep because of the constant threat of North Korean attacks. Fox holes were your only safety claimed almost every marine engaged in Vietnam. In my eyes I know I would not be able to do what thousands of these brave young men did for our country. They fought endless no matter what happened they gave it all and died hero's. Vietnam was hell to all of these men and some to this day have the same nightmares of those terrible nights.
